holyroarrecords.com/#/album.php?id=315&shop=1500 7"s pressed. 100 on black, 200 on yellow cream, 200 on semi-transparent brown. Comes with instant download after purchase from Holy Roar Records (follow onscreen instructions). STREET RELEASE DATE IS MONDAY AUGUST 16TH. Young Legionnaire was started by Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party) and Paul Mullen (The Automatic/ ex Yourcodenameis:Milo) after meeting when YCNI:Milo were sourcing bands for their ‘Print Is Dead’ collaborations project. The idea being that bands would go up to the YCNI:Milo studio in Newcastle and spend no longer than one day writing and recording a song for the record. The track they did was called 'Wait A Minute'and the process was a really inspiring experience, sowing the seed of an idea for them to work together again. Two years later, the result is Young Legionnaire. With a common love of riffs/noise, it seems only natural that after paving the indie/electro wave for Gordon, and Paul honing his pop sensibilities in The Automatic, they would both enjoy a chance to rock out at ultra-volume. The band, completed by drummer William Bowerman (Brontide/ex-Iwasacubscout/La Roux), will be releasing their first 7inch on Holy Roar.

I'm fully properly in love with 'Colossus'. I'm so happy we got the chance to be the first label to work with this band. I think its a fun curveball that fits in our catalogue nicely. I wont lie - its also been an absolute PLEASURE to work with Gordon Bloc Party on this. He is such a nice chap, did the artwork etc etc etc.

I couldn't quite get into this on first listen. Still, nice to see HR putting something like this out

I forgot how TDON are the only label to have ever put out 3 coloured vinyl deals. Come on Tom, you know better! Holy Roar are THE most versatile label out there only matched by the superior quality of their releases. Fact.

Yeah - I saw them play at the Great Escape in Brighton - gorgeous amp set up and Gordon plays Baritone guitar on a bunch of songs, rather than bass - interesting touch. Its early days for them live - but its powerful.

I was obsessed with YCNI:M years back, so anything with Paul Mullen getting his riff on again makes me chuffed to fuck!
