Gallops are that rare beast that straddle rock music and dance music with the utmost taste without being a bag of shit for old people. They seamlessly blend organic and synthetic in an intelligent manner, without being obtuse or chinstrokingly dull. You can dance your fucking tits off (mate), but this is as much for headphone listening in a dark room as it is for festival dance-offs.

The debut EP by Gallops is now up for preorder with a pretty astrological t-shirt if you so fancy. This is a co-release with Blood and Biscuits who have their own variety of shirt, here . A bit of a curveball for Holy Roar - this is a band that join together electronica, math-rock and pop to form something entirely their own within our fair isles. 'Miami Spider' is up for free download straight away here Everyone who preorders will also get sent free remixes by Three Trapped Tigers and Rolo Tomassi at some point prior to release date. Watch out for a bunch of shows and festivals from the band too!

Just got back from seeing these in Norwich. Great venue, band sounded great and the crowd were rather weird but in an OK way! (see below)
. Best thing of all was the fact that I was expecting to see 2 mediocre and boring electronica support acts (they were listed on the tickets site) and ended up only seeing one shit act and MATHS instead!
First act was "epichunt". One guy with no stage confidence, bad humour and gameboys. Probably a nice dude but I really couldn't care about the music.
Then Maths. As usual, they were incredible and I always find myself getting lost in the gloomy atmospherics they breathe out. I'm terrible for still not getting "Descent" but I know the songs and bought tapes off of Zen instead who's a really nice guy.
Gallops were so much more mindblowing live than on CD. Really interesting to watch and played note-perfect. Since I've been into a lot of instrumental-based music lately seeing this live was an epic experience.
I got a 3 minute vid of Maths and a few Gallops songs which I will upload tomorrow some time.

Gallops were indeed sweet tonight. It was great playing with them for the first time, and at that venue for the first time.
