Shapes
Birmingham three-piece Shapes combine the power of post-hardcore, the technicality of mathcore and the uplifting fist-in-the-air ethic of punk rock to produce what can quite simply be described as an aural kick in the balls. Taking influence from such heavy-hitters as These Arms Are Snakes, The Mars Volta and former label mates (and the dearly missed) Meet Me In St Louis, Shapes incorporate blistering beats, psychotic guitars and punishing drums into a performance that is both energetic and unforgettable. Shapes are not for the weak-hearted, you better get strapped in.
“With seismic riffage, spasmodic drums and ADHD time signiatures a plent… Stunning stuff” – Rock Sound
“For anyone looking for a band with energy, passion, enthusiasm and a naughty streak… well look no further” – Punktastic
“A gut level thrill in a sweaty way” – Kerrang

Tropics
Picking a band name is a pain in the ass, especially if it doesn’t come quickly. No-one else is ever gonna have a name as good as ‘The Nation of Ulysses’ so you’re kind of stuck from the start. For anyone who has checked out Tropics before Matt, Dan and Robin have moved on to more prolific pastures in the forms of Fair Oh's, Cold Pumas and Male Bonding. Tropics have since absorbed three of the guys who used to play in the awesome and calculating Meet Me In St Louis. It's practically a new band and should really warrant a new name but that's too much effort.
